The Regal Lincolnshire in Lincolnshire, Illinois has closed. According to information we could find, the movie theater closed January 26, 2023.

Located in the City Park at Linconshire on Milwaukee Avenue about a mile south of Half Day Road, the theater originally opened November 20, 1998 as the Regal Cinemas City Park 20. Later known as the Regal Lincolnshire Stadium 21 & IMAX. By December 2016, it reduced its screen count to fifteen and became known as the Regal Lincolnshire Stadium 15 & IMAX. In September 2022, it was simply called the Regal Lincolnshire.

Regal parent company Cineworld filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2022, but vowed "business as usual." We predicted at the time that low-performing locations would likely begin closing, and the closures began later that month and have continued. The closing in Lincolnshire will not be the last, as news reports already have identified 39 locations that Regal will be closing in February (including some in the Chicagoland area).

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinergy - Wheeling in Wheeling and the AMC Hawthorn 12 in Vernon Hills. If you have Regal gift cards to use, the closest location is the Regal Lake Zurich, which is about eight miles west.
