After more than a year without a movie theater, moviegoers in Londonderry, New Hampshire have reason to rejoice with the reopening of the O'Neil Cinemas - Londonderry! Its first day of operation is today, November 11, 2025.

Located on Nashua Road about a mile from I-93, the movie theater closed last September as the AMC Classic Londonderry 10 after serving the area for more than 40 years. Earlier this year, O'Neil Cinemas announced that it would be reopening the movie theater after renovations were completed. Its imminent return was reported here in September, but we didn't know at the time when it would be showing movies under the new management.

That new management is a familiar name to longtime residents, as O'Neil Cinemas previously operated it as the O'Neil Cinemas - Apple Tree Mall Cinema 12. The company currently operates the O'Neil Cinemas - Brickyard Square 12 in Epping, New Hampshire and the O'Neil Cinemas - The Point 8 in Littleton, Massachussets, making this its third location.

An announcement on the company's Facebook page mentions that the newly opened theater offers a premium "DLX" auditorium with Dolby Atmos immersive sound, seats with Buttkicker transducers to transfer vibrational energy from the movie's soundtrack, D-Box motion seating, and food delivery to your heated reclining seat. In addition to traditional popcorn, soft drinks, and candy items, canned beer, canned cocktails, and wine will be available along with a "limited" hot food menu. Coming soon will be a full kitchen and bar that will offer an expanded food and drink selection.

It appears that there are two "Grand DLX" auditoriums at this location. The theater's website mentions that it has Dolby Atmos sound with 64 speakers and that the curved screen is 65 feet wide.

Until now, people in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Apple Cinemas - Merrimack in Merrimack and the Chunky's Manchester Cinema & Pub in Manchester. Both are about seven miles from the Londonderry movie theater's location.
