The Regal Cinebarre Boulder in Louisville, Colorado has closed.

An article published recently by the Daily Camera (see below) mentions that the movie theater at the McCaslin Boulevard interchange with the Denver Boulder Turnpike closed May 23, 2024. It says that the University of Colorado Boulder purchased the building for $10 million and will be taking over June 15.

We mentioned in November 2023 that the university was planning to purchase the building to convert it into housing. The property is about seven miles from campus and is next to a Park-n-Ride lot.

Theater History

The movie theater originally opened in 1995 as the Mann Colony Square 12 (Mann Theatres). In 2000, it was taken over by Colorado Cinemas and renamed to the Colorado Cinemas Colony Square 12. Kerasotes took over in 2007, and AMC bought Kerasotes in 2010 and renamed it to the AMC Colony Square 12. It shortly thereafter became the Regal Colony Square 12 (Regal Cinemas), which became the 11-screen Cinebarre Boulder in 2014. By June 2016, it was known as the Cinebarre Boulder 11. As of June 2022, it was known as the Regal Cinebarre Boulder.

Where to Find Movies

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the AMC Flatiron Crossing 14 in Broomfield and the Century Boulder in Boulder. If you have Regal gift cards to use, the closest locations are the Regal Village at the Peaks in Longmont and the Regal UA Colorado Mills in Lakewood.
