The B & B Macedonia 15 in Macedonia, Ohio is now open to the public!

Located between Cleveland and Akron in the Macedonia Commons shopping center in the triangle formed by I-271, East Aurora Road (Highway 82), and Highway 8, the movie theater was previously known as the Cinemark at Macedonia, which closed in February.

Bob Bagby, President and CEO of B & B Theatres, was quoted in the press release issued by the company spoke of reopening the new theater:

Our family-owned, privately-held company is thrilled to join the Macedonia market…it is a beautiful community that feels like a B&B kind of town. We love what we do and can’t wait to bring the Magic of the Movies to the area.

It features two premium-format auditoriums called the Grand Screen, the company's screenPLAY! playroom, a luxury auditorium called The Lyric, and a host of new amenities, including ScreenX and a bar that is coming soon.

The Grand Screen auditoriums have wall-to-wall curved screens, 3D and High Frame Rate (HFR) capability, and DTS-X immersive sound systems. One of the Grand Screens also has a ScreenX installation as well.

The ScreenX installation

The ScreenX auditorium provides moviegoers with a 270-degree view during select movies, where certain scenes are illuminated on the sidewalls for an immersive visual experience. This is the second ScreenX installation in Ohio.

screenPLAY! auditorium

The screenPLAY! auditorium mixes watching a movie with giving kids a chance to get their wiggles out before the movie begins with an in-theater playground.

The Lyric (pictured at the top of this article) is an upscale auditorium that harkens back to the company's first location in Salisbury, Missouri in 1924. Choosing quality over quantity, this auditorium has less seats but features wood-grained flooring, tray tables on the heated recliner seating, and other high-end amenities. This room can be rented for private events.

Last but not least is the Max Relax auditorium, which features chaise lounge seating at every seat.

Coming soon is the Marquee Bar, which serves made-to-order hot food items and drinks, which you can take into the movie with you.

This is the Missouri-based company's first location in Ohio. It currently operates theaters in fifteen states, making it the fifth largest theater chain in the United States.

Since it closed, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Hudson Cinema 10 in Hudson and the Cinemark At Valley View and XD in Valley View.
