The Cinemark at Macedonia in Macedonia, Ohio was expected to close March 1, 2024, but it closed on February 12, 2024 instead.

Located between Cleveland and Akron in the Macedonia Commons shopping center in the triangle formed by I-271, East Aurora Road (Highway 82), and Highway 8, the movie theater was opened by Cinemark in February 1999. According to our records, it was known at one time as the Cinemark Tinseltown USA - Macedonia. By May 2016, it was known as the Cinemark at Macedonia.

We reported last week that Cinemark was going to close the theater March 1, and that B & B Theatres was going to be taking over. Renovations were announced, but it was unclear whether the theater would be closed during those renovations. This turn of events pretty much confirms that the theater will be closed until the updates are complete, but stay posted for news related to this theater!

B & B Theatres operates more than 50 locations in 13 states, and this will be its first in Ohio. It bills itself as the fifth largest theater chain in America and its latest projects offer a variety of amenities, including premium large format "Grand Screen" auditoriums with large screens and upgraded sound systems, ScreenX 270-degree viewing experiences, motion seats, chaise lounge seating, luxurious "The Lyric" auditoriums, and ScreenPLAY! auditoriums with play spaces in them for the kids before the movie begins.

Where to See Movies Until It Reopens

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Hudson Cinema 10 in Hudson, the Cinemark At Valley View and XD in Valley View, and the Silverspot Cinema Pinecrest in Beachwood.
