Reader Evan Grubis visited the Marcus Point Cinema in Madison, Wisconsin recently, and sent us photos that he took of the movie theater.

The 16-screen movie theater is located along the beltline on Madison's west side, just south of Mineral Point Road. Marcus Theatres Corporation opened the theater in the 1980s and it is one of two locations the company operates in the Madison area. Like the Marcus Palace Cinema in Sun Prairie, the Marcus Point Cinema has multiple premium large format auditoriums branded as UltraScreen DLX and SuperScreen DLX. A Take Five lounge was added in 2013 and the company's DreamLounger powered recliners were added in 2015.

Competition for the Marcus Point has been dwindling, with the closures of the AMC Madison 6 in December 2022 and the Silver Cinemas - Market Square Theatre that April. Its primary competitor is now the AMC Fitchburg 18 which is about four miles south.
