The Mamaroneck Cinemas in Mamaroneck, New York has reopened to the public after being closed for eight years.

Located on Mamaroneck Avenue just north of East Boston Post Road, the eight-screen theater opened to the public Friday, June 17, 2022. It is owned by Harvey Elgart, who also owns the Cobble Hill Cinemas and Williamsburg Cinemas in Brooklyn and the Kew Gardens Cinemas in Kew Gardens.

To see what's playing and when, and to buy tickets online, please visit the Showtimes page for the Mamaroneck Cinemas.

According to the theater's website, the theater features a Dolby Atmos-equipped auditorium (the main auditorium) with a laser-powered 4K projection system. All auditoriums have "luxury reclining loungers, state-of-the-art laser projection, and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound."

Until now, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal New Roc Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX in New Rochelle and the The Picture House - Pelham in Pelham to the southwest, and the AMC Port Chester 14 in Port Chester to the north.

The building's history of movies dates back to when it originally opened December 5, 1925 as the single-screen Playhouse Theatre, which featured a balcony. The main floor and the balcony were split into two auditoriums each by United Artists in 1980, and it was later purchased by Clearview Cinemas and renamed to the Clearview's Mamaroneck Playhouse. It became the Bow Tie Mamaroneck Playhouse when Bow Tie Cinemas acquired Clearview Cinemas in 2013. It closed in 2014.
