Carmike Cinemas logoThe Carmike Manitowoc 10 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin opened to the public on June 12, 2014, according to a press release issued by Carmike Cinemas. Located on the west side of Manitowoc near the interchange of I-43 and Calumet Avenue (Highway 151), the 10-screen location features one of Carmike's big-screen concept BigD auditoriums.

“At each and every Carmike location we are focused on bringing our valued guests the ultimate entertainment experience through state-of-the-art 2-D, 3-D and premium large format digital projection featuring bigger screens, better sound, and the finest in-theatre seating. Together these ultimate amenities ensure a cutting-edge cinematic presentation each and every time,” stated David Passman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carmike Cinemas.“ We are extremely pleased to bring this exceptional new entertainment complex to Manitowoc and the surrounding communities.”

The BigD auditorium can seat more than 300 people in luxury leather seats in front of the 60-foot-wide screen that can display both 2D and 3D images. A 7.1 channel sound system that boasts 21-inch subwoofers can be upgraded later to 11.1 surround sound, according to the press release.

To see what's playing and when at the new theater, please visit the Showtimes page for the Carmike Manitowoc 10.

The closest theater is the Lakeshore Cinema in Manitowoc (the 6-screen Strand Cinemas closed in March), but given the size and location of this theater, its more direct competition can be found in the Marcus Sheboygan Cinemas and Marcus Green Bay East, even though they are more than a half hour away.
