Marcus Theatres Planning to Reopen in Late June or Early July

Marcus Theatres is planning to reopen its theaters in late June or early July, according to a brief story run by Milwaukee, Wisconsin ABC affiliate WISN-TV:

One of the largest theater chains in the state said it won't reopen until the end of June or early July.

Marcus Theatres plans to offer a low- to no-contact experience for customers by encouraging online ticket purchases and concession sales via an app.

There will also be changes when it comes to picking seats.

"The capacity will be limited. Basically, we will have two seats together and then two seats empty, and the rows in most of our theaters because most of our theaters have recliners, they're already 7 feet deep, so we have the 6 feet of separation on all sides," Marcus Corp. President and CEO Greg Marcus said.

Marcus Theatres closed all its locations on March 17, 2020, as a result of concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic that swept the country and worldwide. Most movie theaters in the United States remain closed, with the major chains saying that they will not return until mid-June at the earliest.
