The Tysons Galleria upscale shopping center in in McLean, Virginia will be the site of a new movie theater from Cinemex. The CMX CineBistro Tysons Galleria will be located in the former Macy's department store on the north end of the shopping center, which is near the Capital Beltway off Chain Bridge Road about fourteen miles west of Washington D.C.

Depending on what news report you find, the theater is scheduled to open either in "summer 2022" or the "third quarter of 2022" so the overlap of those two would land in the July or August timeframe.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area won't have any trouble finding movies to watch nearby. The Kerasotes Tysons Showplace ICON at The Boro is within walking distance across International Drive, and the AMC Tysons Corner 16 is on the other side of Chain Bridge Road to the south. We list 22 other nearby theaters, so there's no lack of options, and the new theater will need to earn every person it wants to attract.

Cinemex operates theaters in Virginia and eight other states in the country under the CMX and CineBistro brands. According to the company's website, the CMX CineBistro experience includes service at your seat, chef-crafted cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and a lounge and bar for before- and after-movie enjoyment.
