The UA Falls 12 in Miami, Florida will be upgraded with four additional screens and luxury seating, if plans submitted by Regal Cinemas to the county are approved, according to a recent article published in the South Florida Business Journal:

Simon Property Group wants to expand the Regal Cinemas theater at the Falls open-air shopping mall in southern Miami-Dade County.

The mall giant (NYSE: SPG) filed a pre-application with county officials on April 25 to expand the theater from 39,786 square feet with 12 screens to 58,020 square feet with 16 screens. An equivalent amount of retail space would be removed from the mall: the bay currently occupied by Love Culture and two empty spaces.

Regal Cinemas would also remodel the existing theater to add luxury seating.

The theater is located at 9000 SW 136th Street in the Falls Shopping Center, about thirteen miles southwest of downtown Miami. The Falls is an open-air shopping center with more than 100 stores and restaurants.
