The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra purchased the former former Grand Cinemas in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to suit its expanding needs, and has recently announced that the restored building will be called the Bradley Symphony Center.
To honor the building's history dating back to 1931 when it opened as the single-screen Warner Theatre, a 50-foot-tall vertical blade-style sign that reads "Warner" has been installed.

This is a classy move by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and we look forward to seeing it light up Grand Avenue for many nights to come!
Even though movies likely will never play at the former Warner Theatre again (outside of possible symphony performances of movie scores with the movie playing on a temporary screen), it's difficult not to follow the progress of one of the last remaining movie palaces in Milwaukee.
To see what the building will look like when it's finished, please visit the Photo Gallery page for the Bradley Symphony Center, as well as the many articles that we've published about the renovations happening at the historic theater.
