When Wicked was released in theaters in November, it was a sensation in more ways than one! Along with spending nine weeks in the Top 10 Box Office Report, getting ten Academy Award nominations, and making almost $500 million in North America alone, it has a sequel coming later this year that will complete the story.

Wicked also crossed a milestone on The BigScreen Cinema Guide, in that we have more than 100 trailers, clips, interviews, and other videos for the movie. That's more than we've ever collected for any other movie in the 30 years we've been in publication!

That also created a bit of a problem, especially for mobile visitors. The large number of embedded videos on one page was crashing mobile web browsers on smartphones, and we felt bad about that.

So we fixed it. Nothing is too good for you, our loyal readers!

The problem was caused by trying to show all the available videos on one page, and selecting a video would display that embedded video in-place. While it had its merits, the fact that it was crashing our readers' phones was combined with the fact that the page loaded slowly. Not so slow that most people would notice, but search engines notice such things, even the unnoticeable things...

But wait, there's more!

In addition to a listing of videos that doesn't crash your browser, this change also means that there is an additional new feature!

Linking Directly to Videos

Making this improvement means that we can link directly to individual videos!

Previously, the most recent trailer was always shown at the top and you had to go looking for the rest of the videos. Our Recent Movie Trailers & Videos page would show the new videos by name, but the link would always go to the same page of videos for that movie. Now, they link directly to a page where the video can be seen at the top (as pictured above).
