The LOOK Dine-In Cinemas - W57th New York in New York City's Hell's Kitchen has closed. Its last day of operation was January 4, 2026.

Located along the Hudson River at West 57th Street and 12th Avenue in a building shared with the VIA 57 apartments, the movie theater has been operated by LOOK Cinemas since 2023. Landmark Cinemas opened the theater in 2017, but left the building in 2020 during the pandemic-forced closures of all theaters across the country.

At the time, it seemed that the decision was more about the pandemic-related impacts than anything else, but now it seems that the location may be its greatest disadvantage. Judging from comments seen online, the primary issue that people had with the theater was its proximity to the subway. Or rather, the lack of proximity to a nearby station, as the nearest station is a six-minute walk to the theater. Not so bad on a sunny day, but in the rain or the winter winds...

If you have LOOK Cinemas gift cards to use, or the company's "Infinity Club" membership, both will be honored at the LOOK Dine-in Cinemas - Dobbs Ferry, which is a 30-minute drive north along the Hudson. If that's not an acceptable option, you can contact the company via its website and social media pages.

Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center on Broadway and West 65th Street and the AMC Lincoln Square 13 on Broadway and West 68th Street.
