The Cinema Village in New York City bills itself as the oldest continuously-operated movie theater in Greenwich Village. Located just a few blocks south of Union Square Park on East 12th Street off University Place, it was built in 1963 in a former fire station. It plays independent movies and hosts various film festivals on its three screens.

It's difficult to get a good streetside photo in such a busy neighborhood, which you can see by the photos that we've added to the Photo Gallery for the Cinema Village!
