The next installment of the Jurassic World / Jurassic Park franchise has an official name, a cast list, and a release date!
Jurassic World: Rebirth opens in theaters July 2, 2025 and stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, and more. Looking through the cast listing, there are no overlaps from the previous Jurassic World movies, and it's hard not to see that as a good thing. A cast that worked so well together in Jurassic World just could not keep the magic alive through the sequels, and only the reintroduction of the original Jurassic Park cast members kept Jurassic World: Dominion from being a complete disaster.
Johansson is an Oscar-nominated actress that can handle action, romance, and comedy and Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey should be interesting to watch handle something other than a period piece. Mahershala Ali and Rupert Friend have been good in past roles as well, so it will be interesting to see how this cast works together on-screen.

Director Gareth Edwards is known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla, and most recently, The Creator. I enjoyed the first two, but felt like The Creator was a bit of a miss, so I'm hoping that he can recapture the storytelling of Rogue One and use what worked in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, and discard what made Dominion fall flat.
Universal Pictures hasn't released a plot summary yet, but we know that it takes place five years after the events of Dominion. According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter (see list below), a limited number of dinosaurs have survived and are key to some life-saving drugs. Johansson plays an operations expert who attempts to obtain some genetic material but gets stranded with a family on an island that holds a secret kept for decades.
The studio has released two images from the movie. The first you can see above, and the other can be seen on the Photo Gallery page for the movie.
