The Marcus South Shore Cinemas in Oak Creek, Wisconsin will have a movie theater screen in its parking lot, similar to what has been done at the Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield nearby.

Movies will be shown on a 42-foot screen attached to the side of the building. Gates will open at 7pm with the first showtime starting around 9:15pm. Moviegoers are asked to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to showtime.

Tickets will be sold by the carload and are sold online only. Currently, tickets are $26.38, which presumably includes tax. Concessions are available and can be ordered in advance. Restrooms will be open in the theater building.

The movies will change each week, with the opening lineup being a double-feature of The Fast and the Furious and Furious 7, respectively, on June 26, 28, 30, and July 2. They are going to flip the showing order on June 29 and July 1. On June 27, they'll be showing the Garth Brooks Drive-In Concert.

This will add to the movie options available to people looking to watch their movies in a semi-communal setting, and under the stars. Most movie theaters have been closed since March, and the last time the area had a drive-in movie theater was back in 2001, when the 41 Outdoor on 27th Street in Franklin closed in 2001. The Milky Way Drive-In opened May 22 in the parking lot of the Milwaukee Milkmen baseball stadium on 76th Street and Rawson Avenue.
