Regal Cinemas logoThe Regal Mission Marketplace & RPX in Oceanside, California opened to the public November 22, 2019 in the same location that formerly housed the AMC Classic Mission Marketplace 13.

Located in the Mission Marketplace shopping center on College Boulevard, just north of Highway 76 (San Luis Rey Expressway), the theater last showed movies almost two years ago, when it closed in January 2018. At that time, it was a 13-screen operation, but according to a recently article published by NBC 7 San Diego (see below), the new theater has just 10 screens. That article also mentions that recliner seating has been installed, and they have "completely revamped the inside" of the theater.

In addition to the new seating, a new amenity is Regal's premium RPX auditorium, which Regal describes on its web site as:

RPX presents movies the way filmmakers intended with powerful, uncompressed surround sound and bright eye-popping images in 2D and RealD 3D. Guests will enjoy the custom-built premium environment creating the perfect moviegoing experience. A giant immersive screen is illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a state-of-the-art sound system.

Moviegoers can expect to pay a little extra when seeing movies in the RPX auditorium vs. the other nine.

Up until now, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinepolis Vista in Vista and the Regal Carlsbad in Carlsbad.
