First Man, which opened in theaters Friday, October 12, 2018, is coming to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on January 22, 2019, according to a press release issued by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

Based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by James R. Hansen, this is the story of astronaut Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) and the challenges faced by the Apollo 11 mission that led to him being the first man to set foot on the Moon. Claire Foy (The Crown) received a Golden Globe nomination for her work as Armstrong's wife, Janet, as did composer Justin Hurwitz for his score.

Despite critical praise (see reviews), the movie struggled in the box office. It opened in third place behind the second week runs for both Venom and A Star is Born. It was only able to hold a spot in the top ten for three weeks. It was a good movie, but as I said in my review, its slow pace probably didn't help it any. Perhaps it can find more love on home video, where there is more time for movies to find an audience.

If you would like to find out more information about the movie, please visit the Movie Information page, as well as the Trailers & Videos page, where we have some great clips and featurettes for the movie!

First Man will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on January 22, 2019. It's already available on streaming services.
