The Republic Theatres - Showtime Cinemas Radcliff in Radcliff, Kentucky has closed.

The last time we received showtimes for the movie theater was Friday, August 26, 2022, which means that it likely closed on schedule Sunday, as announced on the theater's Facebook page the week before:

Showtime Cinema's last day of operation will be Sunday, 8/28! Anyone who has movie passes for Showtime Cinemas will be able to use them at Movie Palace in Etown. Thank you for supporting the theater over the years!

Located in the Radcliff Plaza along North Dixie Boulevard (about 40 miles southwest of Louisville), the theater opened in 1997. It was operated by Republic Theatres, which also operates the Republic Theatres - Movie Palace Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown, as well as the Republic Theatres - Franklin Square Cinema in Frankfort. The company also operates theaters in Indiana and Ohio (see locations).

According to an article published recently by WDRB (see below), the movie theater wasn't making enough money to justify keeping it open.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the aforementioned Republic Theatres - Movie Palace Elizabethtown and the Crowne Pointe Theatre in Elizabethtown, and the Cinemark Preston Crossings 16 in Okolona.
