Twelve Regal movie theaters have closed following the bankruptcy proceedings filed in September by Regal parent Cineworld. Even though the company vowed to conduct "business as usual," it's not a big surprise to see the company trying to make business decisions about its locations around the country.

• Regal UA Amarillo Star IMAX & RPX -- Amarillo

Washington

• Regal Parkway Plaza 12 -- Tukwila

We're predicting that more closures may be on the way, but perhaps that will provide opportunities for smaller theater chains or independent owners to step up and operate some of the locations in ways that a large multinational corporation could not.
