Release Date for James Bond 'No Time to Die' Movie Pushed to November

Posted on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 12:01 PM

MGM, Universal, and the producers of the James Bond movie, No Time to Die, announced recently that the movie's release date will be delayed until November. Its U.S. release date was previously April 10, but has been shifted to November 25, 2020.

Below is a screenshot of the message posted to the movie's Facebook account earlier today:

MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of NO TIME TO DIE will be postponed until November 2020.

The film will be released in the U.K. on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020.

While they don't come out and say it, the change is likely due to the worldwide impact of the coronavirus outbreak that could negatively impact the movie's release in April.

The April release date was always a bit of a puzzler, as November seems like a better month for a James Bond movie to come out anyway. To support this view, the four previous installments (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre) all were released in November.

Since this announcement just came through, it will take some time for theaters to pull it from their showtimes. If you've purchased advanced tickets, please contact the agent from which you purchased the tickets (Fandango, theater directly, etc.) to arrange for a refund.

If you have a desire to watch a James Bond movie and were holding out for April, the good news is that you can rent or purchase the four previous Daniel Craig Bond movies, as well as the entire franchise going back to 1963's Dr. No with Sean Connery in the role as Bond, James Bond.

Gift Shop merchant Amazon.com will be happy to stream movies via Prime Video, and you can purchase the physical discs (still our favorite option) as well. (We receive a small commission from purchases through these links -- thanks for supporting us!)
