The Cinemark Century Riverside 12 in Reno, Nevada has closed. As we originally reported a few weeks ago, the theater closed as planned November 14, 2024.

Located in the Riverwalk District along the Truckee River, the movie theater originally opened November 12, 1999 as the Regal Cinemas Riverside 12. Century Theatres took over January 28, 2000 and it was renamed to the Century Riverside 12. Cinemark acquired Century Theatres in 2006.

News reports from September mentioned that the building in the process of being sold to a developer with plans for the property. According to an article published in October in the Reno Gazette Journal (see list below), that sale didn't go through and the theater was back on the market for a $7.75 million purchase price.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center and the Cinemark Century Park Lane 16.
