The Starlite 14 Drive-In in Richland Center, Wisconsin has reopened under ownership. Previous owners Lisa and Bill Muth operated the drive-in and the Center Cinema in downtown Richland Center for 31 years and they announced their retirement in September 2019.
According to news reports (see below), the theater was taken over by Brent Montry and Holly and Tony Johnson. The timing was especially good for fans of the drive-in, as it has a unique lease agreement with the landowner that would have ended if the theater remained closed for more than a year.
The Center Cinema was also part of the deal, but it has not opened yet due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a Facebook post by the previous owners in February, both theaters were available as a package deal for $180,000. We could not find any details about the final purchase price, but a follow-up Facebook post on June 13, 2020 announced the sale:
Great News, The Center Cinema and Starlite 14 have been sold to new theater owners. Proud to congratulate Brent Montry and Tony Johnson Families and looking forward to some great movie entertainment soon !!!!!!
