The Regency University Village 10 in Riverside, California has closed.

Located off the Escondido Freeway (I-215) and University Avenue, the last time we received showtimes from the theater was December 24, 2021. On December 27, the theater posted the following message to its Facebook page:

Thank you for the memories. We are permanently closed. We have enjoyed serving you and hope you can visit our nearby theatres Regency Towngate Theatres, Regency Sterling Cinema 6, Regency Fontana 8, and Perris Regency Theatres.

The ten-screen movie theater has been in operation under its current name since December 16, 2011. It originally opened November 22, 1996 as the CinemaStar 10, which closed in 2000. It was the Metropolitan University Village Cinemas from 2001-2009. In 2009, it became the UltraStar University Village 10.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Cinemas Riverside Stadium 16, the Galaxy Mission Grove Luxury+, and the Harkins Moreno Valley 16 in Moreno Valley. The closest Regency Theatres location is the Regency Towngate 8 in Moreno Valley, which is about five miles away.
