The Pittsford Cinema 9 in Rochester, New York closed in June 2022, but the good news is that Apple Cinemas is planning to reopen the movie theater in the Pittsford Plaza shopping center on Monroe Avenue.
We found an article posted January 18, 2023 on the News10NBC website reporting that renovations were going to be starting soon and that they were planning on opening in April. The renovations include luxury seating in all eight auditoriums (down from the nine we had recorded for the previous operation) that will keep you comfortable while you enjoy meals ordered from the new full-service kitchen. Apple Cinemas currently operates movie theaters in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. This will be the company's first location in New York.
Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Roc Cinema and the Dryden Theatre.
