Rockport, MA: Rockport Music to Begin Showing Movies

Posted on Friday, September 3, 2010 10:25 AM

Moviegoers in Rockport, Massachusetts now have another option for seeing movies with the opening this weekend of the Rockport Music Cinema Series at the Shalin Liu Performance Center.  Located between the Atlantic Ocean and Main Street, the newly-opened performance center seats 330 and features a "state-of-the-art concert hall with a two-story stage window with direct ocean views; a third-floor reception room offers concertgoers an unmatched panorama of the coastline," according to the description on their web site.

According to this article in the Gloucester Times, movies will be projected onto a screen that will be lowered from the ceiling and suspended over the stage. Seating will be general admission, and tickets will cost $9.50 ($7.50 for seniors) and can be purchased the day of the show.

The first movie they are showing is Academy Award® winner The Secret in Their Eyes (El secreto de Sus Ojos), so head on over to their Showtimes page to find out when it is playing. Their web site says that it is their intention to bring audiences a mix of classic, independent, and contemporary movies, which is reinforced by their planned lineup through the fall:
