The Century Northgate in San Rafael, California has closed.
Located in the Northgate shopping mall along Highway 101 (Redwood Highway) in Marin County, the movie theater's last showings were Sunday, November 10, 2024. It originally opened 30 years ago (November 1994) and was purchased by Century Theatres in 2001. Cinemark acquired Century Theatres in 2006. The theater's closure follows the closure of the Century Regency in San Rafael in November 2023. Cinemark closed the Century Larkspur in October 2022, but it reopened in August 2023 under new management.
Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, the Fairfax Theatre 6 in Fairfax, and the Larkspur Landing Cinema in Larkspur.
