The Regency South Coast Village in Santa Ana, California has closed. Located on West Sunflower Avenue and South Plaza Drive, the movie theater's last day was January 26, 2025.

The three-screen theater was operated by Regency Theatres, which operates nineteen locations in California, Arizona, Hawaii, and Nevada. The announcement of the theater's closing was posted to its Facebook page on January 17:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Regency South Coast Village; our last day of operation will be January 26th. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our loyal patrons for your support over the years.

Don’t miss our Classic Film Wednesday showing of FIVE EASY PIECES on January 22, which will be our final classic film screening at this location. We’ve moved all February/March Classic Film titles to our Westminster location - We hope you’ll continue to enjoy these timeless films with us there.

If you’ve pre-ordered tickets for February or March at South Coast Village, please reach out to info@regencymovies.com for a refund.

Thank you and we hope to see you at Westminster!

According to our records, the movie theater originally opened December 22, 1971 by United Artists Theatres as the UA Cinemas 1-2-3. Formerly known as the Edwards South Coast Village. It became the Regency South Coast Village 3 in 2007.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Edwards Metro Pointe in Costa Mesa, the AMC Tustin 14 at The District in Tustin, and the The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana. The closest Regency Theatres location is the Regency Westminster 10, which is about eight miles away.
