The movie theater in the San Isidro Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico has been closed for more than two years, but it's going to be reopening soon as a "family entertainment center" under new management. Family Entertainment Centers (FEC) often combine movies and other forms of entertainment. Those other forms include arcades, bowling, go-karts, mini-golf, and more, but vary at each location. Family Entertainment Centers have become a popular trend in new movie theater construction and renovation projects.

Located southwest of downtown Santa Fe near the intersection of Cerrillos Road and Rodeo Road, the 14-screen movie theater was previously known as the Regal Santa Fe Stadium 14 since opening in 2007 until it closed in 2023. It is expected to reopen soon as the EVO Entertainment + EVX + IMAX - Santa Fe.

The movie theater will be operated by Elevate Entertainment Group, which has six locations in Texas (with an additional two opening soon) under the EVO Entertainment brand. The theater's entry on the EVO website mentions the following amenities:

• EVX - Enhanced Viewing Experience - This is the company's premium offering, which it describes EVX auditoriums as featuring large screens illuminated by laser-powered projection systems (for brighter, higher contrast, and more colorful images), accompanied by immersive Dolby Atmos sound systems.
• IMAX with Laser - The IMAX screens at other EVO locations feature a laser-powered 4K projection system and a 12-channel sound system. Typically, IMAX screens are larger than screens in traditional auditoriums, but they may not be larger than those in premium auditoriums, such as EVO's EVX auditoriums.
• Private Event Space 
• Free WiFi 

The company is planning to add bowling, an arcade, and dining options later.

We don't have an exact opening date yet, but news reports from earlier this year mentioned that the company was hoping to open the movie theater by the end of 2025, with the additional amenties coming in 2026.
