The animated movie Scoob!, which was originally going to open in theaters on May 15, 2020, is now going straight to streaming video providers on that date instead.

The animated adventure movie reveals how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma, and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.

Rental price for the movie will be $19.99 and it will be $24.99 to purchase.

This move, and the rental pricing that they have set, follows in the footsteps of Trolls World Tour, which was released straight to video on April 10. While the studio behind that movie called it the best ever, no exact details were released about revenue, which calls into question how much a movie is capable of making by going straight to video instead of being released first in theaters.

For more information about the movie, including links to streaming services that will be offering rentals and purchases, see the Movie Information page for Scoob!
