The Golden Ticket Cinemas - Shawnee 6 in Shawnee, Oklahoma is now open.

Golden Ticket Cinemas was founded in 2017, and it now bills itself as "one of the top 50 theatre chains in the US" with 19 locations in 12 states. This is the company's first location in Oklahoma.

According to our records, the theater originally opened as the Hollywood - Movies 6/Shawnee. It was later known as the Carmike Movies 6, and it became the Movies 6 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas in March 2017. The six-screen movie theater was operated as a joint venture between AMC Theatres and Jones Theatres. It closed in January 2023.

Until now, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinema Centre 8 in Shawnee and the Strother Cinema in Seminole.
