The AMC Classic Solon 16 in Solon, Ohio has closed.

Located in Solon Commons shopping center off Aurora Road about fourteen miles southeast of downtown Cleveland, the movie theater shut down January 16, 2023. A message on AMC's website simply reads:

AMC CLASSIC Solon 16 Has Permanently Closed

We hope to see you at our next nearest location: AMC Ridge Park Square 8

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Silverspot Cinema Pinecrest in Beachwood, the Chagrin Cinema in Chagrin Falls, and the Cinemark at Macedonia in Macedonia. If you have AMC gift cards to use, you'll want to follow AMC's advice and visit the AMC Ridge Park Square 8 in Brooklyn, which is about fourteen miles away.

Theater History

According to our records, the movie theater first opened in 1991 as the Regal Cinemas Solon Commons. It was later taken over by Cleveland Cinemas as the Solon Cinema. It was purchased by Digital Cinema Destinations Corp. in Feb 2013 and named the Digiplex Solon Cinema 16. Carmike Cinemas acquired Digital Cinema Destinations Corp. in 2014, and it was renamed to the Carmike Solon Cinemas. It became the AMC Classic Solon 16 in March 2017 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas.
