Sony Pictures has moved its upcoming action movie, Monster Hunter, up to December 25, 2020. It was supposed to be released on December 30, but it's possible that the recent news that Wonder Woman 1984 was going to be doing a simultaneous release in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming platform gave Sony the confidence that it could compete for the holiday crowds.

About Monster Hunter

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, terrifying attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man (Tony Jaa) who has found a way to fight back.

Other Changes

Sony also moved Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway from January to a more logical April 2, 2021 release. That necessitated Kevin Hart's Fatherhood to move off that date to April 16.
