The Marcus Mid Rivers Cinema in St. Peters, Missouri reopened Friday, May 7, 2021 with a new look and new amenities for moviegoers.

The 14-screen theater in the Mid Rivers Mall closed in February to begin the renovations. A press release issued recently by Marcus Theatres Corporation listed the new amenities ready to be enjoyed:

• DreamLounger℠ recliners have been installed in all 14 auditoriums for comfort and extra legroom between each row
• One auditorium was transformed into a SuperScreen DLX® experience, featuring an oversized screen and immersive cinema sound, in addition to the recliner seating
• Another big screen – more than 23 feet wide – will debut in the Take Five℠ Lounge lobby bar. With a capacity of 103, this lounge is a great space to check out before or after the movie
• Expanded food and beverage options will be available from the Take Five℠ Lounge, plus classic diner fare (burgers, chicken sandwiches, shakes, fries, etc.) from the Reel Sizzle® counter
• The lobby, box office, concessions stand and arcade were updated to fully refresh the theatre and give it a whole new look

“Construction at Mid Rivers Cinema began shortly before the start of the pandemic a year ago,” said Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. “Although it has been a challenging year, we are excited to show our confidence in the community’s return to theatres to see movies on the big screen. That’s why we continued with the investment in the renovation – even during a difficult time – and are excited that the theatre is ready for guests this Mother’s Day weekend. We wanted to treat our moviegoers to the ultimate experience and this impressive renovation will do just that.”

A new exterior entrance is also planned for this summer, according to the company.
