Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray March 27, 2018, according to a press release issued recently by Lucasfilm Ltd and Walt Disney Studios. The movie is the eighth installment in the "Skywalker Saga" which is the triple-trilogy that began in 1977 with the release of Star Wars. It opened in theaters on December 15, 2017, keeping the #1 spot in the Weekly Box Office report for three weeks, and staying in the Top 10 until late-January. It was the top-grossing movie of 2017, according to the press release and other sources.

It follows the events of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, where audiences met a scavenger girl named Rey as she becomes involved in the resistance efforts against the Empire version 2: The New Order. In this movie, she learns more about her origins, her abilities with the Force, and the resistance continues its struggle against the New Order as well as its very existence.

The saga concludes in 2019 with the release of Star Wars: Episode IX.

The movie is still playing in over 250 theaters, so if you want to see it on the big screen, head over to the Showtimes page for Star Wars: The Last Jedi for showtimes at a theater near you! The trailer for the home video release is included below, and head over two dozen videos on the movie's Trailers & Videos page for your viewing pleasure!

Bonus features allow fans to go behind the scenes with writer-director Rian Johnson, as well as see deleted scenes and more. Features available on the streaming versions will differ, so you will need to look closely at the details for each vendor to see what the video and audio characteristics are, and whether any extras are available.

Retailer Exclusive Editions

It appears that Best Buy will be offering the 4K Ultra HD edition in a Steelbook, and Target will offer a package that includes the movie on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital streaming, as well as a 40-page booklet of images from the movie.

Which Will You Buy?

From what I've seen so far, my choice will be the one of the 4K packages, so time will tell how the Best Buy Steelbook pricing will compare to the pricing of the regular 4K edition.
