The All Saints Cinema in Tallahassee, Florida has closed after a tornado ripped the roof off the building on May 10, 2024.

According to a message posted to the theater's Facebook recently, the "skylight" created by the storm has made showing movies difficult for the foreseeable future:

Generally speaking, movie theaters do not have skylights in their ceilings.

Unfortunately after the May 10th tornado in Tallahassee, All Saints Cinema is in quite a state of disrepair and inoperable in large part due to the skylight pictured. Railroad Square also suffered greatly as the tornados tracked right through over to the southeastern part of Tallahassee.

Plans are in the works on repairs but it might be awhile till films are shown again at the former railroad depot. We are working on some other options and will keep everyone apprised.

If you would like to contribute tax-deductible donations to help replace the equipment that was destroyed, please email us at: filmnews@tallahasseefilms.com

The theater is planning to show movies at the Challenger Learning Center IMAX on Duval Street. For more details, check out their website and Facebook page.

The storm damage has also caused the the Cap City Video Lounge to close until the cleanup of the area makes it safe to reopen. They posted the following message to their Facebook page a few days ago:

Hey Gang, just a heads up that we will be shut down temporarily to keep everyone safe as professional cleaning crews come in to Railroad Square for a mass cleanup operation to get the area safe again and as the City of Tallahassee rebuilds the area power. Everyone with rentals out, please, just keep them out until we are operational again. Don't worry about late fees, we just want you all to be safe, Gang. We will let you know as soon as we do when it is safe to have you back. We miss you and love you all. Please be safe and we cannot wait to gather with you again at Cap City Video Lounge.

According to an earlier message, the Video Lounge did not sustain major damage.

Until these theaters reopen, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Challenger Learning Center IMAX and the Regal Governor's Square Stadium 12 in Tallahassee.
