The Old Mill Playhouse in The Villages, Florida is getting a new operator.

According to a recent news article (see below), the movie theater will be operated by Epic Theatres starting November 1, 2023. The company has locations in Florida and North Carolina.

The Villages is located about 57 miles northwest of Orlando. It is a planned community intended for adults 55 and over, which has recreation options (including golf, of course), entertainment, shopping, dining, and more. The theater is located in the Sumter's Landing town center and opened in 2004.

The article also mentions that The Villages does not intend to reopen the Barnstorm Theater, which closed in February 2022.
