The Marcus Ho-Chunk Cinema in Tomah, Wisconsin is now open to the public.
Located near the Highway 12 interchange with I-94, the new six-screen movie theater is a collaboration between Marcus Theatres Corporation and the Ho-Chunk Nation.
The press release (included in full below) contained quotes from Marcus Theatres and from the Ho-Chunk Nation:
"This state-of-the-art cinema complex will bring the best possible moviegoing experience to families in Tomah and western Wisconsin. Guests at the Ho-Chunk Cinema will be able to enjoy first-run hit movies such as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and others, in crystal-clear digital sound while relaxing in comfortable stadium seating," said Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres.

Marcus Theatres Adds Management Contract; Company Will Manage New Six-Screen Theatre in Tomah, Wisconsin.
MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2003--Marcus Theatres Corporation, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), in collaboration with the Ho-Chunk Nation, today announced the opening of the new six-screen Ho-Chunk Cinema in Tomah, Wisconsin. The theatre, to be operated under a management contract by Milwaukee-based Marcus Theatres(R), is owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation.
"This state-of-the-art cinema complex will bring the best possible moviegoing experience to families in Tomah and western Wisconsin. Guests at the Ho-Chunk Cinema will be able to enjoy first-run hit movies such as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and others, in crystal-clear digital sound while relaxing in comfortable stadium seating," said Bruce J. The contract for the Ho-Chunk Cinema is Marcus Theatres' second management contract. The company also manages 34 screens at three theatres in Chicago.

The 20,000 square foot theatre has seating for over 700 people and is designed to be expanded to up to 12 screens. The Ho-Chunk Cinema will feature traditional movie refreshments such as freshly popped popcorn, candy, Icees and, for fast, convenient service, a self-serve soft drink center featuring Pepsi(R) products. "Self-serve soft drink centers have proven to be extremely popular with moviegoers at other Marcus Theatres. It speeds up service at the concession counter and people appreciate the flexibility of choosing their own drinks," Olson said.
