The 21 Drive-in in Van Buren, Missouri has closed for the rest of the 2025 season due to storm damage.
Located about 140 miles south of St. Louis on Highway 21, the outdoor movie theater has been showing movies since it opened in 1952. The following message was posted on its Facebook page on August 19, 2025:
Due to the devastating straight line wind storms that just blew through our area our screen and marquee have been destroyed and we will be canceling the rest of this drive-in season. To all who have reached out we appreciate your support and hope that we can come back better than ever. KEEP THE DRIVE-IN ALIVE!!!
Here's hoping that the repairs are done soon and the theater can reopen in 2026 better than ever!
Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen
Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Pine Hill Drive-In Theatre in Piedmont and the AMC Classic Poplar Bluff 8 in Poplar Bluff.
