Theater photos

The Regal Gallery Place in Washington, DC has been a fixture in DC's Chinatown neighborhood since 2004, and we had the chance to visit the area recently and took some photos to share with our readers.

The 14-screen movie theater was known as the Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14 when it opened October 22, 2004. A few years ago, Regal simplified the naming of most of its theaters, which caused it to be shortened to its current nomenclature. Moviegoers in the area were likely concerned when the theater appeared on a list of 39 locations the company was closing in 2023, but here we are in 2026 and the theater is still going strong!

The theater is located on the second floor of the Gallery Place shopping center at H Street and 7th Street NW. It is next to the Capitol One Arena, which is the home of the Washington Capitals NHL ice hockey team, Washington Wizards NBA basketball team, and the Georgetown University Hoyas men's basketball team. There was a comedy performance at the arena, so getting to the theater was a bit of a challenge due to the queues for the event snaking through the first floor of the shopping center. Be prepared to explain to the various security personnel monitoring events at the arena that you're not cutting in the line, you're just trying to see a movie.

The concession stand seen in the above photo is flanked by two hallways leading to the auditoriums. A Guest Service desk is on the left, while signage for the 4DX auditorium on the right. A ticket booth that was once located on the first floor is no longer there, which leaves ticketing to kiosks and the concession stand workers.

Photo Gallery

While we didn't have a chance to take in a movie while we were there, we did take almost two dozen photos for our readers to enjoy. You can find them on the Photo Gallery page for the Regal Gallery Place.

Showtimes and Tickets

With the closure of the Landmark E Street Cinema in 2025, the Regal Gallery Place is the only option for mainstream movies near the U.S. Capitol and National Mall.

To see what's playing and when, and to buy tickets online, visit the Showtimes page for the Regal Gallery Place.

Other nearby options include the AMC Georgetown 14 to the west and the Landmark Atlantic Plumbing Cinema to the north.
