Watching A Charlie Brown Christmas is a holiday tradition for us, and you can make it yours, whether in theaters or at home!

The classic animated story was released on television in 1965, and many generations have enjoyed watching it the same way since. Movie theaters have shown it as well over the years, but the most popular way has been to watch it on TV.

However, with streaming services all vying for your monthly subscription, finding these holiday traditions has become difficult to impossible for many people. In 2018, Apple purchased the rights to the Peanuts specials, and they became an exclusive for its streaming service, Apple TV+, in 2020. That means that you'll need to sign up for Apple TV+ if you want to stream the Peanuts specials, because they're not available for any price on any other service, nor are they being broadcast on local channels.

Watch it in Theaters

To find a theater that's playing it and when, please visit the Showtimes page for A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Watch it at Home

Gift Shop merchant Amazon.com has it on sale right now, so you can own it and watch Charlie Brown and friends celebrate Christmas as many times as you want!

You can find the combo pack of for less than $27 and if you just want DVDs, they also offer the Peanuts Holiday Collection on DVD for about $20.

However, we recommend picking up the entire collection, which includes:

The Peanuts Holiday Collection on 4K and Blu-ray includes 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and standard HD Blu-ray discs. (Unfortunately, no online codes appear to be included) This set comes with the bonus episodes and featurettes as well:

  • It's Magic, Charlie Brown
  • Charlie Brown's All-Stars
  • We Need a Blockbuster, Charlie Brown!
  • The Mayflower Voyagers
  • Play It Again, Charlie Brown
  • Popcorn & Jellybeans: Making a Thanksgiving Classic
  • It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown
  • It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown
  • A Christmas Miracle: The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas

If you just want DVDs, they also offer the Peanuts Holiday Collection on DVD for about $20. While I'm a fan of buying movies on highest quality 4K disc whenever possible, this is one situation where I don't think you lose much by sticking with the DVDs. The lower picture quality adds to the nostalgia factor!

If you have kids, or you're just a kid at heart that needs something simple and fun in a chaotic world, you can pick up some great Peanuts shows for a really good price!
