The final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which opens in theaters Friday, November 16th, 2018 has just been released, and you can see it here!
The movie follows the events of the 2016 movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, with an ending that saw powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) being captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
With sequels, it's always good to see the original cast return, and every major actor from the first film appears in this one. The 2016 movie wasn't received as well as the studio was probably expecting, given the massive popularity of the Harry Potter franchise, but if this installment can impress audiences, it has the potential of lifting the first with it and establishing its own franchise status. This trailer shows that promise!
