A ScreenX installation has been added to the MJR Waterford Cinema in Waterford Township, Michigan. The technology provides a 270-degree panoramic field of view using three projectors, and this is the first such installation in Michigan.
We experienced ScreenX when it made its Wisconsin debut in September 2023 at the Marcus Ridge Cinemas in New Berlin, Wisconsin. As with all such enhancements, its impact was more effective with some scenes and some types of movies than others. Experiencing a full presentation of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One was enjoyable, but the increase in price that often comes with such presentations can make one pause.
