The Cinemark 18 - Webster in Webster, Texas will be upgraded in Spring 2017 to add Cinemark's Luxury Lounger recliners to all auditoriums and a bar in the lobby that will serve beer and wine. A recent press release from parent company Cinemark USA, Inc. states that the renovations will be completed in time for "2017's summer movie blockbusters," which likely means some time in May 2017.

“The Cinemark 18 and XD Theatre has been a popular entertainment destination and a big part of the community for many years,” said Mark Zoradi, Cinemark’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our new Cinemark Luxury Lounger recliners and lobby bar will be great additions at this theatre. With the exciting slate of movies planned for 2017, we know our guests will continue to select Cinemark as its preferred destination for enjoying Hollywood’s biggest movies.”

The announcement does not mention if the theater will stay open during the upgrades, so stay tuned to its Showtimes page for updates. If the theater does close, moviegoers in the area will need to attend one of the other nearby theaters, including the Premiere Cinemas - Premiere Nasa Dollar 8 and the Star Cinema Grill - Baybrook.
