The AMC West Palm Beach 12 in West Palm Beach, Florida closed April 30, 2023.

Located in The Square shopping center at Okeechobee Boulevard and S. Quadrille Boulevard, the movie theater is in the way of planned office buildings, according to several news reports.

It appears that there is still a plan to have a 455-seat IMAX theater located in the development somewhere, but a standalone IMAX theater is probably not feasible. Don't hold your breath for this to become a reality.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Lake Worth Playhouse - Stonzek Theatre in Lake Worth and the Phoenix Theatres - Lake Worth 8 Cinemas in Greenacres.

Theater History

According to our records, the theater originally opened December 22, 2000 as the Muvico Parisian 20. An IMAX screen was added in July 2007. Later known as the Muvico Parisian 20 & IMAX @ City Place and then the Muvico Parisian 20 & IMAX. Carmike Cinemas acquired Muvico Theatres in 2013, but the theater's name did not change. It became the AMC CityPlace 20 in January 2017 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas. It was later renamed to the AMC Rosemary Square 12. As of March 2022, it was known as the AMC West Palm Beach 12.
