The City Center 15: Cinema De Lux in White Plains, New York closed in October 2023, but it appears that the movie theater will be showing movies again soon with a new operator.

City of White Plains Mayor Thomas M. Roach announced the news on Facebook recently that Apple Cinemas has signed a lease for the movie theater and the projected opening date is the first week of May 2024. Apple Cinemas operates 11 locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island.

Located in the City Center shopping center on Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street, the movie theater had an IMAX auditorium, which is expected to be part of the theater's offerings when it opens.

The location is not yet listed on the company's website yet, so we're going to refer to it as the Apple Cinemas - White Plains until an official name is announced.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to continue visiting one of the other nearby theaters, including the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema - Yonkers in Yonkers and the LOOK Dine-in Cinemas - Dobbs Ferry in Dobbs Ferry.
