We traveled to eastern Indiana to view the total solar eclipse earlier this month, and took the opportunity to experience the event at the Hummel Drive-In in Winchester! It was a truly amazing experience and the staff was friendly and opened the concession stand for everyone in attendance.
Located east of downtown Winchester on Indiana 32, the outdoor movie theater opened in 2016. and is owned by Paulette and Shawn Hummel. It was previously known as the Airline Twin Drive-In because of its proximity to the Randolph County Airport across the road.
Besides being in the amazing astronomical moment for the totality event, we had the chance to talk with the owner and the staff. We also took quite a few photos, which you can see on the Photo Gallery page for the theater.
