The Big Sky Twin Drive-In Theatres is located just outside Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin on Highway 16. It opened in 1950 as the single-screen Winnebago Drive-In Theater, being named after the road that runs along the theater's property. It was later known as the Dells Drive-in, until finally resting upon its current name (most likely after adding the second screen). There is still a sign by the road that reads "Dells Drive-in" as an indication of its previous name.

It now features two screens and each shows a double-feature. We visited the theater in September 2024, and there were many cars lined up well before sunset waiting to enter. You can see two of the photos above and the rest can be found on the Photo Gallery page for the theater.

The Big Sky is just one of eight outdoor movie theaters operating in Wisconsin. If you have always wanted to watch a movie at a drive-in, be sure to stop wanting to and actually go! These theaters don't survive and thrive on intentions; they count on you watching movies and buying concessions, including the Big Sky's signature big mamaburger!
