Drive-in movie theaters in Wisconsin may reopen as of today, May 11, 2020, per Order #36 from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services:

a. Drive-in movie theaters may open, with the following restrictions:

i. Drive-in theaters may not offer outdoor seating.

ii. Patrons may leave their vehicles to purchase or pick up food or drink from the theater or to use the restroom. Patrons must remain in their vehicles at all other times.

iii. Any food or drink sales must comply with Section 13.d. and 13.e. of the Safer at Home Order.

iv. Drive in theaters may deliver food to patrons waiting in their vehicles.

v. To the extent possible, reservations and payments should be made in advance online or over the phone.

There are currently eight drive-in movie theaters in Wisconsin, as of last fall.

The new order was just issued today, so some theaters may still be getting their plans in place. A quick check of the official web sites and Facebook pages for these theaters show that the Stardust Drive In in Chetek is planning to open this weekend, the Shawano Moonlight Outdoor Theater in Shawano is opening May 18th, and the Field of Scenes Drive-In in Freedom is aiming for a May 29th opening (as of May 11, 2020).

Update: As of May 12th, the Chilton Twilight Drive-In in Chilton said that they will be opening on Friday, May 15th.

We'll be carrying their showtimes whenever they provide them to us, so stay tuned to the Showtimes pages for each theater using the links above to watch for updates!
